Tzun Privacy Notice

How Tzun Handles Information on Your Device

Tzun is a local-first growth journal for snake keepers. It helps you keep visual records of individual snakes, attach photos and short videos to growth notes, browse husbandry reference material, and consult a species overview. This notice explains what information the app may process, why it does so, and the choices available to you.

You can open and use Tzun without creating a profile, signing in, or maintaining any remote identity with us. There is no mandatory account system.

Document focus: device-side records, media, and permissions

What Tzun Is Designed to Store Locally

Most of what you see in Tzun exists because you entered it or captured it yourself. Typical categories include:

Bundled care articles and species guide text ship with the application package. They are reference content, not personal data you submit.

Device Permissions You May Be Asked to Grant

Certain features only work when the operating system allows Tzun to use a sensor or library. Permission prompts appear when you initiate the related action.

Camera

Used when you capture a growth photo or start an in-app video recording. Images and clips remain on the device as part of your local archive unless you later export or share them through the system yourself.

Microphone

Used only when recording short videos so that audio can be included in the file. If you decline microphone access, video capture that depends on audio may be limited or unavailable.

Photo Library

Used when you pick existing photos or videos to attach to a snake profile or growth entry. Tzun reads the items you select for that purpose. The app’s primary design keeps chosen media inside its local storage rather than requiring a cloud library.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device Settings. Denying a permission disables the related capture or picker flow; other journal features that do not need that sensor continue to work.

Why Processing Happens

Local processing exists so Tzun can:

We do not operate Tzun as a social network, marketplace, or clinical diagnostic service. Care and species materials are educational reference only and do not replace veterinary judgment.

Network Activity and Third Parties

Tzun is built around local files and on-device preferences. Core journaling workflows—creating profiles, writing entries, attaching media, and reading bundled guides—do not require you to upload your growth archive to our servers.

Your device and the operating system may still perform their own network activity when you use system components (for example, system media pickers, operating-system integrity checks, or platform commerce frameworks). Those components are governed by the policies of the platform provider, not by this notice alone.

This version of Tzun does not integrate separate advertising SDKs or analytics packages of our own for tracking your journal content. If a future release adds optional network-connected features, we will update this notice before those features change how personal information is handled.

Retention, Deletion, and Your Control

Records and media remain on the device for as long as you keep them in the app or until you remove them. Deleting a snake profile or a growth entry removes the associated local images and videos that belong to that item, according to the deletion confirmations shown in the interface.

You may also clear app data by removing Tzun from the device using standard system uninstall tools, which deletes the app sandbox including local archives. We do not maintain a remote copy of your growth journal that would survive uninstall.

Because there is no mandatory remote account, there is no separate “account deletion” workflow with us. Control is exercised through the in-app delete actions and the device’s own storage controls.

Children and Family Use

Tzun is intended for general audiences interested in responsible reptile keeping and observation logging. It is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us in a manner inconsistent with applicable child-protection rules, write to embertrail@tzunkeep.com so we can review the situation and respond appropriately.

Security Practices We Apply

We rely on the operating system’s application sandbox, file protections, and permission model to limit access to your local archive. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used in development and distribution, but no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed free from risk. You should keep your device locked, apply system updates, and avoid sharing device access with people who should not see your journal.

International Use and Legal Framework

Tzun may be downloaded and used in the United States and in other countries where the app is made available. Where United States privacy and consumer laws apply to our role as the publisher of Tzun, we follow those requirements. Where you use the app from another country, local laws and regulatory expectations may also apply to how device data is handled on your side.

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it. If a dispute remains, it may be brought before competent dispute resolution bodies under applicable laws.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this notice when product behavior, permissions, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected in the in-app or distributed copy of this document. Continued use after an update means you have had a chance to review the revised text.
